A husband and partner geologist nearing retirement actively working from residence employed SHED Structure & Design to design a single family residence, dubbed Most necessary Road Home, for them in Seattle’s Leschi neighborhood. Whereas it’s not on Major Road technically, they named it such because of the pedestrian path and unimproved correct of signifies that flows alongside to the north of the home.
The location has a 20 foot slope from the very best to the underside, giving the couple partial views of Lake Washington, Leschi Park, and the encircling panorama. They sloped part of the roof too to include an outdoor roof deck.
The couple wanted a home that had areas that flowed from the inside out and which may “work together the situation and surroundings whereas retaining a method of refuge.”
Outside areas extend out from the footprint of the house, rising sq. footage.
I actually like how they combined a warmth gray, horizontal siding with picket and concrete particulars.
Inside, the picket trim and particulars proceed and are paired with white partitions and ceilings.
They included house home windows everywhere, along with above the upper kitchen cabinets and in lieu of uppers on one wall of the kitchen.
They skipped the risers on the picket stairs letting delicate cross by way of to take care of it delicate and glossy.
