The thought for the Tom Kundig-designed cabin is that of a lakeside shelter within the woods—a bit field with an enormous window that opens to the encompassing panorama. The cabin’s massive window-wall (30 ft by 20 ft) opens the complete dwelling area to the forest and lake. Supplies are low upkeep—concrete block, metal, concrete flooring and plywood—in line with the notion of a cabin, and left unfinished to naturally age and purchase a patina that matches in with the pure setting. The cabin sleeps ten.
